The cyclone delivered! 223mm of rain in less than 48hrs!! That's almost as much as October and November combined. The Wet season has officially started!
This was probably the most exciting morning of my life. The surprise of waking up to find the creek full (it was bone dry yesterday and full of leaves), the excitement of watching it break its banks, and then the crazy scramble to make sure anything floaty didn't floaty away. What a day!
The lodge is now officially cut off. Can't get across the creek to the neighbouring property and can't drive the road to the airstrip. That means no food delivery this week. Just as well the supplier mistakenly sent me 72 eggs last week. Omelettes for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
