This has to be the biggest spider I've ever seen in the Kimberley. An Australian Tarantula. Can have a leg span of up to 16cm. What a beauty!
Australian tarantulas are non-aggressive, but if provoked can inflict a painful bite. An adult’s fangs can be 1cm long. Australian tarantulas mainly eat other spiders, insects, frogs and lizards.
